Will Taylor is an artist and printmaker based near Rye on the South coast. His prints have a traditional feel: they are typically copper plate, hardground etchings using only line and cross-hatch in monotone to create a range of tones. They reflect a love and fascination of the masters of the etching revival. For the intaglio print drop we have chosen two topographical themes which explore rich contrasts of light and strong verticals in composition. The beauty of intaglio lies in the creation of fascinating darks. His printmaking is the culmination of various working methods which include drawing and painting. He is member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) and the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA) exhibiting in galleries in Sussex, Kent and London, and has been a regular contributor to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Bankside Gallery, and the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair since its inception.
