Eska Marsh (b. 1994) is a British contemporary artist based in Bristol, UK.
Distinguished by a unique primitive style, Eska draws inspiration from American folk art, still life’s and her own imagery which often mirror the stark realities of our modern world. A graduate of Falmouth University in 2015, Eska has garnered significant acclaim over the past decade, with her prints and paintings displayed in selected galleries and recent shows at Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, Town House Spitalfields, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and her recent debut show at Morgans, Falmouth.
Eska works primarily with drypoint and carborundum to create her monochromatic, silhouette prints. They are then printed on a large iron press. As the edition gets printed, the noise surrounding the subject gets deeper on the plate, this is due to the carborundum, making each piece completely unique.
