Framed only

Seeing images as objects, and surfaces of objects, Xin’s practice aims at exploring the dimensions underneath the printed sheets. Combining contemporary printing with hand-crafted textures, her work highlights its material delicacy and bodily sensation. Xin's work opens up a passage into an inner space. Through the traces and patterns underneath the images—the scares, the subtext, the vulnerabilities, the conflicts- they evoke past memories and welcome new encounters. Graduated from the Royal College of Art in Print MA, Xin focuses on digital printing techniques, media images, and material studies supported by her design background. She's interested in postmodern traumas reflected in both private and social spaces, and conflicts between self-identification and cultural backgrounds.
