Will Taylor RBA | The Retirement of he Chairman, 2017

from £395.00

Etching

Media Dimensions: 56 x 46 cm

Image Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm

Edition of 50

Framed/unframed

Will Taylor’s work explores the use of the drawn line in etching. His prints have a traditional feel: they are copper plate, hardground etchings using only line and cross-hatch in monotone to create a range of tones. They reflect a love and fascination of the masters of the etching revival. They explore various themes: The Natural Sciences etchings echo Leonardo’s notebooks and draw on his science and engineering education juxtaposed against animals and other inventions. Topographical themes are inspired by travels around Britain and the world, and local subjects are inspired by the environment around his studio in Rye. His printmaking is the culmination of various working methods which include drawing and painting. He is predominantly self-taught. He is member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) and the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA) exhibiting in galleries in Sussex, Kent and London, and has been a regular contributor to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Bankside Gallery, and the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair since its inception.
