Zinta Jaunitis is a London based artist whose practice, centred on drawing and extends into printmaking. Her work blurs the boundaries between experience, observation and imagination to create story fragments and dreamlike open-ended narratives. With a background in art and design her work combines a wide scope of literary and art history references, which she uses playfully to spark a lyrical and intuitive response. Zinta delights in fluidity of materials, using formats that allow for movement and invite the viewer into a dialogue. She leans into the expressive and immediate nature of monoprinting, using spontaneous mark making and layering as a way of bringing chance into her work, lifting her out of the inevitability of a process. Zinta has an MA in Illustration from Camberwell College of Art, MA in Visual Culture, and a BA in Graphic Design. She has exhibited in local and international shows, including WCPF 2023, and is currently part of an international artist collective making artists books about stories and narratives. She is currently working on a series of prints, exploring the intersections of print and drawing, and three dimensional approaches to storytelling.
